Meredith's Mission is a registered charity dedicated to providing support and resources to children diagnosed with cancer in Bournemouth, Poole & Christchurch. Join us in our mission to uplift and empower these young lives.

Meet our Mini CEO 

Meredith was diagnosed with a form of non-Hodgkin Lymphoma a 4 years old.

She has undergone 2.5 years of chemotherapy which has brought many challenges.  However undeterred she arrives to chemotherapy sessions with a smile on her face and joke ready to tell her favourite nurses.  She is the epitome of joy and strength. 

She will ring the bell in January 2026

How We Support Families

Meredith’s Mission is dedicated to walking alongside families whose children are facing cancer. Inspired by Meredith’s own journey, we offer practical support, kindness, and a sense of community, helping parents and children feel held and supported when life becomes overwhelming.

Supporting Children 

One-to-one music therapy to help children express emotions, reduce anxiety, and find moments of joy during treatment.

Creative activities that bring comfort and resilience through difficult times.

Play packs designed to stimulate and entertain children during long inpatient stays, tailored to each child’s needs and preferences.

 

Support for Parents 

Parent support groups and access to counselling/trauma support.

Practical wellbeing therapies such as chiropractic, physiotherapy and osteopathy to restore physical health.

Regular wellbeing events in the locality.

Private facebook support group.

Support for Families 

Family activity days and respite opportunities away from the hospital environment.

Safe spaces for families to reconnect and make positive memories together.

Nutritious meal support during long hospital stays and at home when needed.

Signposting

Accessing the right support can be minefield, we will walk parents through various avenues of support in the area and ensure you're aware of all the various provisions available to you, including support with education and employment.
